How Asphalt Art Makes This Baltimore Community Safer

Through our Asphalt Art Initiative, the City of Baltimore, Maryland, installed projects at three intersections near a school where the percentage of cars yielding to pedestrians increased by 41%. “You get a safer neighborhood for people to walk, and you get artwork that people can enjoy and have pride in their neighborhood,” said Steve Sharkey, Director of Baltimore’s Department of Transportation.
