Accelerator Fund
At the 2025 Bloomberg Philanthropies Awards for Global Tobacco Control, Mike Bloomberg announced a $20 million Accelerator Fund to help advance global tobacco control progress. Governments and non-governmental organizations in several low- and middle-income countries without any best-practice tobacco control measures in place or countries close to implementing all best-practice measures will be eligible to receive technical support and funding from partner organizations.
Eligible Countries
Countries eligible for the Accelerator Fund are low- and middle-income countries that are not a current focus country of the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use and are listed in the 2025 World Health Organization (WHO) Report on the Global Tobacco Epidemic as either having no MPOWER policies assessed as being highest-level, or 4 out of 5 MPOWER policies at the highest level.
