Mike Bloomberg is an entrepreneur and three-term mayor of New York City. Bloomberg L.P., the technology and media company he launched in 1981, revolutionized the financial industry. Just weeks after the attacks of September 11, 2001, he was elected mayor and led New York City’s resurgence.
He has given away more than $21 billion through Bloomberg Philanthropies, which works on initiatives in public health, education, environment, government innovation, and the arts. He also serves as UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions and as WHO Ambassador for Noncommunicable Diseases and Injuries. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Business School.
