Supporting Sustainable Cities
As we face the dual challenges of rebuilding from the COVID-19 pandemic and addressing the climate crisis, sustainability and equity must be central components of our recovery strategy. Nowhere is this more critical than in cities, which are home to the majority of the world’s population and have acutely felt the impacts of climate change. Cities have long been hubs of innovation and inspiration towards solving the world’s toughest challenges, making urban centers uniquely positioned to lead on climate and sustainability issues.
In the U.S. and around the world, Bloomberg Philanthropies supports and collaborates with mayors and local partners to ensure cities have the resources they need to raise their ambition, share learnings, and make progress in the transition to a sustainable, healthy future.
