The Position 

Bloomberg Philanthropies is seeking a mature, talented, and highly organized project manager and writer based in New York to be part of its internal communications and marketing team. The role requires working closely with colleagues across Bloomberg Philanthropies, as well as external partners. The ideal candidate will also be a strong, versatile, and fast writer and researcher who is able to support the wider team across memos, presentations, briefing documents, and other content. 

Candidates should thrive working in fast-paced, dynamic environments and be able to anticipate changing needs and shift priorities as required. They should also be confident, self-directed as needed, and comfortable managing their peers and senior colleagues. 

This role will be based full time in New York City. Some evening and weekend work will be required. 

Responsibilities   

  • Manage and support the speechwriting team throughout the assignment and approval process for remarks, op-eds, and other written materials prepared on behalf of senior leadership  
  • Track priorities and ensure the team is navigating approval and editing process to make deadlines 
  • Provide administrative support for the head of internal communications and marketing and head speechwriter
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, encouraging creativity, innovation, and cross-functional cooperation
  • Provide clear and concise project updates to key stakeholders, highlighting challenges and recommended solutions
  • Implement efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team
  • Respond to competing and changing priorities in real time as needs arise 

Key Requirements 

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, high-performance work environment either through internships or full-time work    
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment with a flexibility and willingness to work outside normal business hours 
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple schedules, deadlines, and competing priorities
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and the demonstrated ability to effectively interface with senior level colleagues, both verbally and written  
  • Proven ability to produce clear, thoughtful, and well-researched written content in a variety of formats
  • Must be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative environment
  • Proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
