Fellowship Description 

Bloomberg Associates is seeking a dynamic, Tampa-based fellow with experience and/or strong interest in working with city governments to facilitate project management and programmatic execution between multiple Bloomberg Associates teams—Housing, Real Estate, Economic and Workforce Development—and the City Administrator for Development and Economic Opportunity for the City of Tampa.  

This role will be part-time, working on average 20 hours per week, and be on-site at Tampa City offices. The Fellow would be on an initial 6-month contract.  

Role and Responsibilities 

The Fellow will report directly to the office of the BA Chief of Staff and the City Administrator in Tampa. Additionally, the Fellow will engage in regular, daily communication with each BA project team and relevant Tampa counterparts.  

Specific responsibilities include, but will not be limited to: 

  • Project management support, including tracking deadlines and deliverables 
  • Coordinating weekly and monthly project meetings and conference calls
  • Identifying, troubleshooting and flagging potential issues that will impact project execution
  • Desktop research and record-keeping
  • Developing internal and external stakeholder presentations and reports 

Desired Qualifications 

The fellow must have strong organizational and communication skills—including the ability to work efficiently and effectively with executive and senior staff.  Additionally, candidates should have demonstrable research and PowerPoint/presentation development experience. A post-graduate degree and/or familiarity with the relevant subject matter areas and data analysis is valuable, but not required.  

The candidate must be comfortable working independently, well-organized, detail-oriented, computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, mainstream project management software) and available to provide on-call support for the duration of the contract.  Additional qualifications include: 

  • Bachelor degree in related field, two or more years of relevant professional experience a plus 
  • A proven track record of strong project execution, policy research, project management and results driven impact 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Clear and concise writing skills
  • A quick learner, able to absorb and synthesize large amounts of information
  • Ability to convey data and other complex information through design and/or concise writing
