Position 

We are seeking a reporting analyst with a keen attention to detail, solid experience with excel, and deep understanding of business intelligence tools (specifically Tableau) and effective communication skills. In this role, it will be necessary to understand and translate the needs of leadership and the Grants team to an audience of engineers and developers to ensure reports are built, maintained and managed to meet expectations. Occasionally, this role requires data analysis, making the ability to manipulate data a must. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Systems and Sources 

  • Work closely with Grants, Finance, Fundraising, and Program teams to ensure that data is brought together accurately and consistently across platforms (Fluxx, Salesforce, SharePoint): work with teams to identify areas of opportunity to improve data 
  • Collaborate with database admins to recommend and implement new data points that should be collected to facilitate more robust reporting (i.e. new strategies within initiatives, demographic data, etc.) 
  • Articulate business requirements to database admin and technology teams to ensure that data flows into backend database (and ultimately into reports) as intended based on front end data entry 
  • Understand how systems communicate in order to better resolve issues as they arise
  • Ability to test reports using test scripts to find errors in logic and/or unexpected behavior
  • Effectively communicate issues, providing details to front-end and back-end team about findings
  • Provide access to systems in coordination with and approval from HR and IT, monitoring report access and usage on an ongoing basis 

Product Design and Management 

  • Design, develop, and implement data tools and techniques to transform reporting into informative data narratives 
  • Utilize project management best practices to solicit feedback, gather requirements, track priorities, communicate updates, manage output to successful completion
  • Create high quality, easy-to-use reporting that will be used to inform press and communications needs, marketing materials, and management presentations
  • Manage process to update reports in preparation for the end of year 

Team Support 

  • Explain data concepts & challenges clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Conduct sophisticated analysis and distill into simple concepts and terms for leadership to understand and act on
  • Train Grants and Program teams on new reports or changes to reports and compile easy-to-use documentation to make the organization’s reports more self-service
  • Work with IT and Technology teams to ensure technical needs and requirements are being met on a regular basis
  • Support Grants team with ad hoc reporting requests, including documenting requirements with which reports will be built
  • Work with Grants Liaisons to review annual giving data and prepare memos for leadership approval 

 

Required Qualifications and Skills: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in database management, operations coordinator role in a fast-paced environment or prior Fluxx experience  
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate projects and tasks with a focus on quality and follow-through  
  • Experience handling data and creating operational reports with a sharp eye for accuracy and detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence to ask pertinent questions to grasp concepts quickly and think beyond specific tasks  
  • Tenacious with a good work ethic and thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment  
  • A dynamic team player able to receive and apply feedback
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Flexibility and ability to learn and develop new skills on the job
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, Excel, and PowerPoint; advanced excel skills such as VLOOKUP, modelling scenario planning, pivot tables and macros would be a plus 

 

Pay Information  

Pay Range: $35 - $45 per hour 

The referenced pay range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
