Detroit is a great American city — and the perfect place to announce Bloomberg Philanthropies’ new partnership with Ford, part of our $90 million initiative to train high school students in the skilled trades and create pathways for them to enter rewarding, in-demand careers.

The city’s innovative spirit and strength were part of every interaction we had, from speaking with Ford CEO Jim Farley, to meeting with students training in an automotive lab at Breithaupt Career and Technical Center at Detroit Public Schools Community District.
