Riannon Last never dreamed of attending college outside of her home state of Wisconsin.

Then, she received information about the CollegePoint advising program. “CollegePoint opened up a whole world to me,” she said.

Mentorship through the program gave her access to guidance that shaped the course of her college application process. “My CollegePoint mentor helped me think more broadly about my education. She was also someone from the Midwest with a similar background. I could talk to her about my goals, about the application process, and about specific highly ranked schools that I should consider – something for which my high school in South Milwaukee didn’t really have the resources.”

The free service helped her create a college list, discuss essays, access financial aid, search for scholarships, and prepare for the start of her first year. Today, she’s getting the most out of her time at Wellesley College.
